SAFER Act Advances To The Senate Floor

I have exciting news to share! The SAFER Act cleared the Senate Judiciary A Committee yesterday and will soon be headed to the Senate floor for a vote. THANK YOU for all that you did—it would not have happened without you!!

Thank you especially to Senators Josh Harkins and Jeremy England who sponsored and help steer the bill through passage on deadline day yesterday. And thank you to Senator Brice Wiggins, the Chair of Judiciary A, who so wisely ran that committee meeting! Please reach out and thank them!!

Senate Bill 2753 will:

  • Protect the safety and privacy of Mississippi’s girls and women,
  • Define a woman and man from birth, and
  • Provide a cause of action for any violation of the Act.

There are other bills out there but this is the only one that will protect Mississippi women’s safe spaces.

That is why we need your help. It is now time to kindly call your Senator and tell them you support the SAFER Act.

It is important that lawmakers hear from you. The deadline for passage is Thursday, March 14th so please act quickly!

You are making a difference in women’s and girl’s lives.  Thank you!
