Mississippi Advocacy Group Hosts Press Event in support of legislation protecting Mississippi women, children

Tuesday, January 25th, The Mississippi Trade Mart atrium was packed with leaders and constituents supporting legislation that (1) bans harmful puberty blockers, cross-sex hormones, and irreversible surgery for minors, and 2) preserves Title IX protections and privacy for biological women in every aspect of our state law. We stand in support of our lawmakers as they pass legislation to protect Mississippi’s women and children.
Our incredible lineup of speakers brought the room to a standing ovation time and time again. Our distinguished speakers and guests included Speaker Philip Gunn, championing Representatives and Senators, Dr. Mike Artigues (President-Elect of the American College of Pediatricians), Dr. Ligon Duncan (CEO and Chancellor of Reformed Theological Seminary), Alliance Defending Freedom’s Title IX expert, Matt Sharp, American Family Association’s Meeke Addison, de-transitioner Xandra, and Agricultural Commissioner Andy Gipson.
Women of Mississippi will continue to speak out on this message:
“Thank you to Lesley Davis, MS Advocacy Group, LLC, & a member of Rankin Co Republican Women for organizing this magnificent event in support of the women & children in our state! The slate of speakers with their knowledge & expertise was awesome” –Covington County Republican Women
“Our fellow Mississippians struggling to identify with their biological sex need compassionate support, not experimental treatment that is below the medical standard of care and that is unsupported by science. Our women and girls need to know they have privacy and protections in their bathrooms, locker rooms, prisons, and more. A special THANK YOU to Mrs. Lesley Davis for your extensive work and countless hours you have contributed to help champion this important issue! We appreciate Lesley Davis, the President and CEO of Mississippi Advocacy Group. She is also an active member of Rankin County Republican Women.”– Mississippi Federation of Republican Women
Elected officials were thoroughly pleased with how Mississippi was represented:
“Today’s Do No Harm rally was a powerful reminder of this and an important call to action. I stand with the people of our state and against all who would hurt our kids.” – Governor Tate Reeves
“Today’s event made it abundantly clear– protecting women and children is a priority in Mississippi. There is overwhelming support to see these protections through.” –Representative Jill Ford
“Vulnerable children should not be pushed into receiving experimental treatments that can leave them permanently sterile and physically marred for life—but that is just what the radical Left is doing. Medical care exists to promote health and human flourishing, but these experimental medical interventions have lifelong, irreversible consequences. Mississippi must stop the intrusion of toxic and radical gender ideology into our healthcare system.”
“We’ve watched as the federal government has pushed for a redefinition of ‘sex’ that leaves women and girls out in the cold. We must not let this spread to Mississippi. Women have fought long and hard for equal opportunities, and they deserve to feel safe in private spaces like bathrooms and locker rooms and to compete on level playing fields. When we ignore biological reality, women and girls bear the brunt of the harm. The Title IX Preservation Act will protect the safety, privacy, and dignity of Mississippi girls and women.” – Lesley Davis, President and CEO, Mississippi Advocacy Group
We are grateful to all the lawmakers and concerned citizens who joined the Mississippi Advocacy Group in declaring that protecting children and women is a priority in Mississippi. The event was a powerful stand against the radical gender ideology agenda that continues to push life-altering, dangerous treatments and procedures on our children and jeopardize the privacy and opportunities of our women and girls. Denying the truth that we are either male or female hurts real people. We will continue to fight for legislation that upholds truth and protects Mississippi’s vulnerable children and women and girls.
We want to especially thank all of our lawmakers and elected officials, speakers, as well as the Mississippi Baptist/Christian Action Commission, Dr. Shawn Parker, and Dr. Kenny Digby; Alliance Defending Freedom; American Family Association; Mississippi Federation of Republican Women; and the Mississippi Pentecostals.
