Gov. Reeves signs SAFER Act

I have great news to share!

After a long and hard fight this session, Gov. Tate Reeves has signed the SAFER Act into law. With this one signature, girls and women in Mississippi will be protected in their safe spaces such as bathrooms, locker rooms, changing rooms, dorms, and sororities! I believe it is the first law in the nation that covers all of these private spaces for women and girls—Mississippi is LEADING THE WAY!

At a time when the Biden administration is redefining what a woman is and forcing men into our private spaces through the recent radical Title IX re-write, it is crucial that we immediately protect Mississippi girls and women— and their private spaces. And that is what the Mississippi legislature and our Governor did.

Many of us thought this bill was dead at various times during the legislative session, (and it literally was); but because of your calls and your adamant support for Mississippi’s girls and women, this bill is now law.

Thank you to Sens. Josh Harkins and Jeremy England for sponsoring this crucial bill in the Senate and for Rep. Celeste Hurst for sponsoring in the House. These lawmakers truly modeled what it should look like to work across both chambers to pass good legislation for Mississippi!

And thank you Gov. Tate Reeves, Lt. Gov. Delbert Hosemann, Speaker Jason White, Sen. Brice Wiggins, Rep. Joey Hood, and all of the Mississippi Legislature for protecting Mississippi girls and women!!

And thank you to all of you—this never would have happened but for your help and support! You matter, you make a true difference—your support means so much.

Thank you!
