House Passes SAFER Act!

We have great news to share. Yesterday the House passed SB 2753, the SAFER Act! YOU helped make that happen—thank you!

But we are not done yet.

The House added what is known as a “reverse repealer” to the bill, meaning it will have to go to conference before the end of the session. Both the House and Senate will be able to make changes and need to come to an agreement, and then vote on the bill once again before it goes to the Governor for his signature.

Senate Bill 2753 is the only bill alive that will keep men out of women and girls’ private spaces such as bathrooms, changing rooms, locker rooms, dorms, sorority houses, etc.

Thank you for your support and your incredible help during this process. We could not do this without you! And please thank Speaker Jason White and Representative Joey Hood for getting it passed in the House and thank Senators Josh Harkins and Jeremy England for sponsoring and getting it passed in the Senate.

Capitol Switchboard: 601-359-3770.

Now let’s work together to get this crucial bill across the finish line and help protect the safety and privacy of Mississippi girls and women!
