SAFER Act Advances in House!

On deadline day, the SAFER Act advanced out of the Judiciary A Committee in the House, and it is now headed to the full chamber for consideration.

Thank you Speaker Jason White, Committee Chair Joey Hood, and the rest of the members of Judiciary A committee for their leadership in protecting the privacy and safety of Mississippi women and girls!

That means we are one step closer to protecting Mississippi’s women and girls.

But the road has not been easy, and opponents will not rest in their fight against doing the right thing for women in Mississippi.

Senate Bill 2753 will:

  • Protect the safety and privacy of Mississippi’s girls and women,
  • Define a woman and man from birth, and
  • Provide a cause of action for any violation of the Act.

We now have about one week for the bill to advance out of the House. The deadline for action is April 10. So we need your help.

Your Representatives need to know they have your support. Can you make one more call or send one more email?

And please do thank Speaker Jason White, Committee Chair Joey Hood, and the rest of the members of Judiciary A committee!
